HealthStand

HealthStand, a City of Helsinki Health Center service, offers guidance and advice for improving health and preventing disease.

HealthStand is a new kind of municipal health service that promotes the self-care capabilities of Helsinki residents. It can be found at Hansasilta at the Itäkeskus shopping center. The purpose is to support individuals in improving their own health. HealthStand does not offer medical treatment, which remains available at Helsinki health stations.

The commitment and motivation of residents for monitoring and looking after their own health is strengthened by establishing appropriate health services near other everyday services and making them readily available. Service chains will be developed in collaboration with shops in the vicinity so that the self-care services are easily accessible.

HealthStand employs three nurses provided by the City Health Center. Experts from other city departments will also be involved, including dieticians, exercise experts, physiotherapists and dental hygienists.

Theme weeks and events

Finnish vocational universities and organizations of health care are an important part of HealthStand's operations by bringing in their expertise and services. Together with HealthStand, the Metropolia University of Applied Sciences will organize theme weeks such as Heart Week and Mental Health Week. Students of the Laurea University of Applied Sciences get practical training at HealthStand.

Forum Virium Helsinki is involved in the project by providing digital marketing, business collaboration, concept design and content for Stadi.TV.
